Exercise Recovery Program

SCI Recovery Project offers a safe, high intensity program designed to promote recovery and well-being for individuals affected by spinal cord injury or other conditions resulting in paralysis. Our Adaptive Exercise Specialists provide a one-on-one exercise based program tailored to meet individual needs for clients of any age, appropriate during any stage of recovery with physician approval.

 

This comprehensive, total body program enables clients to maximize their ability to regain strength, confidence, and independence. We know the term “recovery” is subjective, therefore we are dedicated to assisting clients meet individual goals, whether they are as simple as being able to scratch their nose, or as complex as learning to stand and take steps again.

 

To participate, individuals must provide a physicians approval to exercise and disclose any complications. Please see our application for further details. We also provide nutritional and alternative therapy counseling to allow clients to reach their goals. Our highly trained staff looks forward to providing you with the highest quality of SCI recovery services available.

 

Adaptive Exercise Training:

The SCI Recovery Project Open Gym offers members benefits of adaptive exercise at their own pace and schedule while reaching their wellness goals. Upon application approval, members will have access to this state of the art facility during normal business hours, Monday through Friday. The Open Gym Program gives clients access to weight bearing equipment, standing frames, weight and cardio equipment and can be combined with one-on-one sessions to maximize value.

We also provide nutritional and alternative therapy counseling to allow clients to reach their goals. This waiver is a three year pilot program and is limited to 67 participants per year. The HCBS-SCI waiver offers alternative therapies that include acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage therapy, with an end date of June 30, 2015.

 

As Colorado’s premiere location for the HCBS SCI-Waiver services, SCI Recovery Project is excited to make a difference in the lives of those with spinal cord injury with this amazing program.
